Privacy Policy for Local UPnP Things

Effective date: June 6, 2026

Local UPnP Things is a local-network controller for compatible local UPnP/SOAP Things on the user's Wi-Fi/LAN.

Local Network access

The app requests Local Network access to find and control compatible local Things on the same Wi-Fi/LAN. The app may use Bonjour/mDNS, local descriptor probing, SSDP/UPnP diagnostics, local HTTP device description requests, and local SOAP requests.

Local control works only when the iPhone or iPad is on the same Wi-Fi/LAN as the compatible local Thing.

Information stored locally

The app may store saved Thing metadata locally on the user's device, including device name, type, model, local descriptor URL, local control URL, local event URL, favorite status, last seen time, and last known on/off state.

This information is used to show saved Things, favorites, state labels, and local control options in the app.

Information not sent to an owner-operated server

The app does not send local Thing names, local IP addresses, local URLs, local network details, or local control status to an owner-operated server.

The app does not require a cloud account and does not provide internet-based remote control.

Advertising

The app may show Google AdMob banner advertisements.

Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or receive information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, and ad interaction data to provide, measure, and improve advertising, subject to Google's own policies.

You can manage ad personalization and advertising identifiers in iOS settings. Where available, the app may show privacy or consent choices provided by Google's advertising tools.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its advertising services at:

https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Accounts

The app does not allow users to create accounts and does not support logging in with an external account.

Data deletion

Because the app does not create user accounts or store local Thing data on an owner-operated server, there is no account deletion process. You can remove locally stored app data by uninstalling the app from your device.

For data handled by Google advertising services, use the privacy controls provided by Google and iOS.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Non-affiliation

Local UPnP Things is an independent local-network app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by device manufacturers, Apple, Google, or standards organizations.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the app's behavior or third-party services change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
